Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into LinkedIn over allegations that the platform may be profiting from misleading or fake job listings known as “ghost jobs”. The investigation questions whether job seekers are paying for Premium subscriptions under the impression that listings represent genuine, active opportunities, despite claims that many postings may not be actively hiring. Now, LinkedIn has been ordered to provide documents relating to its job verification practices and how it markets its services to job seekers.
