We chat to Gladys Boakye the SABC’s Group Executive: Human Resources - acting. Motome Madibana MICT SETA CEO and 5FM's very own, Relebohile Mophuting SABC Intern, at 5FM.

BACKGROUND:

MICT SETA is a skills development institution established in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998, to generate, facilitate and accelerate the processes of quality skills development at all levels in the MICT sector in South Africa. 



The MICT SETA plays a pivotal role in achieving South Africa’s skills development and economic growth within the sub-sectors it operates namely; Advertising, Film and Electronic Media, Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications



The SABC and MICT SETA have a long-standing relationship which began 2011 aimed at addressing the skills development in the ICT sector.



THE SIGNIFICANCE OF TODAY

This Youth Month sees the launch of the Internship Program at the SABC. The organization understands the importance of nurturing young talent and providing them with the opportunities to grow and excel in their careers. 



The internship program is designed not only to provide practical experience and professional development but also to help bridge the gap between education and employment. By investing in these young minds, we are contributing to the creation of a skilled and dynamic workforce that will drive our industry forward.



Today the successfully appointed interns, along with MICT SETA have been invited by the SABC (currently in the M1 auditorium) as part the launch of this year’s Internship Program.
