The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress

View descriptionShare
Today on the show, Nick chatted to Arnout van Krimpen, the Director of the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress Foundation. This year, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human rights, the world has made much progress, but much more remains to be done, including for members of the LGBTIQ+ community, who still face discrimination in many societies, and legal sanction in 75 states. The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress is a work of art which calls for openness, inclusiveness and a defence of human rights globally, including the rights of members of the LGBTIQ+ community. The monumental dress is made up of the flags of the 75 countries where homosexuality is punishable by law, including 8 countries where homosexual acts can result in the death penalty
