With a background in software engineering and experience across teaching, educator development and national innovation programmes, she’s helping shape how South Africa approaches AI in education. She’s also an Anchor Judge for the inaugural South African AI Awards 2026.

Joining us now is Lara Toselli, a South African writer, performer, director and producer whose career began remarkably early , as a nine-year-old presenter on SABC 1's YoTV. Since then, she's worked across television, film and theatre, and has created award-winning work of her own.

Her latest project is particularly personal. Mother Load is a one-woman show written and performed by Lara and directed by Tinarie van Wyk Loots. It explores motherhood, identity, grief and the often overlooked process of becoming a mother while finding plenty of dark comedy in the chaos.
