Shortstraw are one of those bands that feel stitched into a particular chapter of South African music; the festivals, the indie scene, the chaos, the singalongs, the songs you somehow still know every word to.

And then, for almost five years, things got very quiet.

But they weren’t gone. They were living. Building businesses, getting married, starting families, growing up a little; and eventually finding their way back into a room together to make noise again.

Today, Shortstraw officially release their new EP, Everything In Between, their first new collection of music in almost five years, and they’re joining us in studio this morning to talk about what brought them back, and they’re going to play something for us live as well.
