5B DEY SAY ON 5 BREAKFAST

View descriptionShare

Dey Say are not being presented as artists following the trail Tyla created. The conversation positions Tyla’s global success as proof that African pop can compete at the centre of mainstream pop, while Dey Say represent another distinct expression of that movement.

Their version of A-Pop blends pop, R&B and African musical influences through the format and chemistry of a South African group. Dey Say were already publicly identifying with the A-Pop movement before Tyla’s 2026 album made the term globally visible.
