New data has revealed that youth crime in Queensland has jumped more than ten per cent last financial year.
For example, the number of proven offences committed by young people increased from 41,155 in 2022/23 to 46,130 in 2023/24.
Youth Justice Minister Laura Gerber told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, 'Labor has been telling Queenslanders a lie for the last five years in relation to youth crime.'
'In fact, youth crime has been going up for the last five years, despite at estimates every year, Labor saying things are getting better and our plan is working,' she said.
