It is still raining for the majority of South-East Queensland which means no power for thousands, flash flooding, road closures and a whole lot of uncertainty.

The road to recovery has well and truly started, but it could be heavily affected by the continuing rain and the multitude of rivers threatening to overflow.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli told Peter Fegan on 4BC's Special Coverage, "Make sure you know if you're at risk, if you've got an evacuation plan, know where higher ground is."

Brisbane City is flooding yet again due to heavy rain, almost 500mm since Wednesday, but residents have been reassured it will not be a repeat of 2022 thanks to better preparation and communication.

Brisbane City Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner told Peter Fegan on 4BC's Special Coverage, "There's always ways we can improve and I know the Premier has some views on that as well but everyone was working together there was a great sense of cooperation."
