Cath Mahoney is back in your ears with a very special episode from Mamamia Gen X podcast, Unleashed.

To all those in the 456 Club, you'll know that life in your 40s, 50s and 60s can bring some of our most complicated challenges, particularly when it comes to ageing parents and caring for the people we love.

In this three-part special, Unleashed co-host Dr Ginni Mansberg shares the deeply personal story of her mum Sylvia's decision to access voluntary assisted dying.

It's an intimate and honest conversation about family, love, anticipatory grief and the complexities of saying goodbye.

This is part one of a three-part series, beginning one month before Ginni’s mum’s death. Listen to part two and part three here.

Please take care while listening. This episode discusses voluntary assisted dying, death and grief. If this conversation brought up hard feelings and you need some help, please call Lifeline here.

In your ears today is Cath Mahoney, Bruna Papandrea and Ginni Mansberg
