Farmers are fuming after The Climate Change Authority, chaired by Matt Kean, released a report suggesting Australians should eat less red meat to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It also says an area the size of Belgium will need to be converted to forest on prime agricultural land to offset emissions, which farmers say would cripple the $86 billion industry.
National Farmers Federation President David Jochinke joins Luke Grant to discuss what sort of impact these proposals would have on Australia’s agriculture industry and the disconnect between the government and the nation's farming community.
