Boys one final time for the year. How we feeling?

I mean, are you guys a big like New Year's fans, Are you guys big into setting you know, goals and all that stuff.

Not really?

Yeah?

I do, Yeah, I'm into it.

Yeah you're into it? Yeah sure.

I mean it's a reason too. It's a reason too, you know.

Most people's goals. Instead it dies in January. It's like it was awesome. It's like those gym memberships that everyone buys in January and they stop using by February March.

You're right, But it's it's it's a try, it's a it's an it's an opportunity. It gives you a go, you know, it gives you a start. You know, it's like monopoly, right, you got to get off a go. You know, you can't get around the board and let you get off a go. So I just feel like New Year's is that get off a go. That's that get off a go moment, like you know, jumpstart your system. And you're right, it does die out, maybe within a couple hours, maybe within a day, maybe a week, maybe you make a month, but nonetheless you gave it a go.

Yeah, I don't know. I think if in like if in July or August, you're like, you know what my new Year's resolution is going to be, It's like, no, just put the fork down, get off your fat ass, and get to the gym. Now, stop waiting. Five months?

Have you told everyone about your new book that's coming out of the Dow diet book. You're going to release all that?

Brady wrote, put forward blank page, blank page. No, he Brady wrote, blank page document. Brady wrote the forward to it. It's called put the fork Down. It's a real dive that we've put together.

And then the rest of the page concept.

Chapter one, don't eat anything. Chapter two more about not eating anything. Chapter three you see chapter one nothing.

Yep, I think you're gonna hang it.

Well, I think I figured this thing out.

Just don't eat Yeah, put the fork down?

Though, real simple concept. Can I just say this man?

Yeah, what are you gonna say?

Dan Campbell? I would love to sit at a blackjack table with that guy. I just down Jesus, he is rolling the dice, he is hitting on nineteen's he does not care. Oh, so we're gonna be in uh San Francisco to the Bay Area to play the Niners in a game that means nothing to us because it's all on the line next week. Don't worry, We're not pulling anybody out. We're actually gonna be there and participate the entire time and battle with the Niners and what ended up being a pretty fun game. And afterwards, Dan Campbell spoke about his decision making and his thought process going into it.

Yeah, it was on my mind, you know. I mean I thought a lot about it, you know, I thought about it leading up to the game. I thought about it last night, I told the staff. But I ended up settling on the right thing to do is play these guys, and because we owed it to the team, you know, and and it was just one of those those positions we were in. It's just hard to say who you're going to sit, and it's not fair to ask guys to play that haven't been prepared to play. We flew out here, we prepared this way. We came out to win, and that's ultimately what it came to. And yeah, you do you cross your fingers. Nobody gets hurt. I mean, it's tough and we were fortunate, you know, we got out.

So now here we go all on the guys.

You guys a question, Yeah, of course you can.

Should Jared Goff legitimately be up for like we talk about Lamar's running away with it or Josh? And should you know if he doesn't, If Lamar doesn't get it, Josh Allen should get it. Jared Goff, you do you do know he has better stats than Josh Allen. He's in four thousand yards, passing more touchdowns. Should I mean, should are we taking Josh or excuse me, Jared Goff for granted?

Yeah, I think Jared Goff, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, I think we've made I've made the case for I'm still not sure why the MVP race, at least odds wise, it seemed like it was over a while ago. It doesn't make any sense. I mean, sa Kwon Barkley for what he's done for Philly, this should be a much tighter race than the odds Portray and Jonas. Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe the odds have been updated since this weekend and it is a little tighter than the last time. I checked, but the fact that Josh Allen's still the favorite in a time when it's not like the Buffalo Bills one the number one overall seed. They're going for the number two seed. Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. To your point, LeVar, they are going for the number one seed next week. It's everything. It's the NFC North, it's the number one seed, and if they win, there'll be a game off of where Mahomes and the Chiefs are. And that's another candidate, Like we're not really saying much about Patrick Mahomes even though that team is to a fifteen to one record. We assume they're gonna, you know, sit everyone next week, or at least Mahomes because he's been dealing with that ankle injury. But even then, you look at it and go, why is everyone just given it to Josh Allen Because we feel like he's that good. We feel like he's a guy who should win it at some point in his career. You know, is it voter fatigue with Lamar Jackson? I mean, because I think you look at Joe Burrow when he plays his best, and you might say he might be better than everyone at his best. When he's clicking on all cylinders. He might be the best in the NFL. But you know, we haven't really looked at him because, well, their team's not having as much success even though they literally carried their team, and despite the fact that of what he's done, their defense hasn't held up the end of the bargain. So I'm with you, like I was gonna pose the question to you, guys if you look at the Detroit Lions and you know they're they're sitting here with fourteen and two. Yeah, they're a game off and the Chiefs are the Chiefs, Like, who's the best team in the NFL? Because I watched that game last night and I've realized there's times where the Lions have to outscore opponents their defense, you know, without Aidon Hutchinson's some of the injuries they've sustained, it's taken a hit. But I still look at them and think, man, that they look and feel like maybe the best team in the NFL consistently. And I don't know how you want to stack up their schedules and their you know, their divisions, because you're probably gonna have three teams from the AFC West and you're gonna have three teams for the NFC North. So both the Chiefs both the Lions have been truly battle tested. But man, I look at the Lions and maybe I'm just like, it's the whole thing. Maybe it's Ben Johnson, his creativity, it's Dan Campbell the way he coaches, it's the sum of all the pieces. Like they just feel like a team. It doesn't feel like there's like any one guy that's over the top of the other. But I love Washington. That's so much fun.

To watch whire to Why are they've been the most impressive team in the league as far as start to finish, Because you could go to Bliss and Baltimore's lost some games where you're like how that happen? And Kansas City is sputtered on offense, probably should have lost to Denver. Like there's been times where you're like, God, it just doesn't look right. It doesn't it doesn't seem right. But the Lions annihilate teams, like like they went through a stretch where they were just beating the piss out of everybody. And this is with the team that's had injury issues and injury concerns all year long and what's funny about is that, you know, we talk about the injuries and all, like the key players that they've lost, and then you're watching last night and like, wait a second, So they've got still got Jamir Gibbs, They've still got am and Ross Saint Brown. They've still got Jamison Williams on Sam Laporte's you know, one of the better tight ends in the league. Like they're still loaded even after all those injuries. So I would say wired to why are they've been the most impressive team. I just don't know how you pick against Kansas City.

Honestly, I just feel like Kansas City is like you and a praying manis both very awkward and some of the things that they do, but way crazy effective. Like I was watching you on the Challenge, I was like, man, that's an awkward dude, but man, like you're you're you were effective, Like what you were saying was on Your information was good, your delivery was good. You just didn't move any body part except your head and your mouth, like everything else was like still. You know, you look at a praying manas you know what I mean, and it's like they're awkward, but they be taking down like some of the wildest prey.

Man. I just think.

Kansas City has has proven that they're the best team because you can't figure them out. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You just can't figure them out. I like the fact that you got the bully and in Detroit and and I'll give them that, and and Dan Campbell has successfully transitioned this team into having a like that type of arrogance about them, that they're gonna kick your ass. But I just I mean, Kansas City is just their defense shows up when their defense needs to show up. The offense does what they need to do every single time they need to do it. And it's just hard to look at the team and say, based upon how they win, that they're you know, they shouldn't be considered to be the best team, but they I think they are.

I think they're the best team.

I love the fact that he pointed that out about Jonas. I mean, I've been trying to put my finger on what it is for a while now, and we're trying to help Jonas.

Yeah that's all, Yeah, that's all. It's awkward, but it's super effective. Man.

I tell you what, like you you move like, you move like one of them like old school robots on the movie, you know, like Short Circuit or what was the one that it was like a lady or something like that, and it was on your head that moved, you know what I mean, like move like a robot a little bit. But but once you got going, bro like you killed it, man, like crushed it. Now the other dude, I can't, I can't. I can't say so much, but I mean, you know what it is?

What is this?

Is this in reference to the TV show that's just seen locally in Los Angeles that people around the country have no idea what.

It's okay because you're relevant because you're on the show, so people want to know about the challenge even though it's local and I'm local to the market that you're in. I think people all around the country are interested in how your performance is because they're interested in you.

Well listen, I mean there you go. I appreciate it, and uh look still a work in progress. You know, we're trying to trying to get through it. You know that, like that was a difficult show to go through, Yeah.

Because I was very cold.

Well no, it was just like I was getting this big, big day the following day, moving trucks coming and coming at six a m. And I was just wanting to get locked in to be ready to go for the big move.

So I needed to ten dollars.

Keep the change.

Wow, all right, I.

Got in trouble for that. Man. It was a real thing.

I've heard a lot. I've never had anyone come that early.

They did. I'm glad they did. So they were there all day.

It was uh what They got there at seven and didn't finish up until what uh three four four o'clock with the drive time, so that was a crazy It was a crazy long day for them.

Yeah. Man, yeah, so good group of guys, man, I tell you what.

They came in that joint and they tore it down like an ant hell man, like just went through it. S So it was good. Shots out to my guys, man, you know shots. Should I plug them?

I should.

Plug them?

Yeah, I don't know.

I don't care if you need to. Well, shouts out to my rapid moving company man, you know, rapid movers.

Like rapid dot call.

Let's say everything in your names. He promotes Yeah, yeah, I mean I do.

I definitely promote them. I don't even know if that's their names. To be honest, I mean I could be wrong.

I what a company.

No, they are called rapid Movers. Actually, they do rapidly moved your ass. I'll tell you that. So thank you for that. Now, you know, the whole country wanted to know that I was moving yesterday.

Thank you.

That's why I wasn't on you know, thank you. Thank you for exposing that. I don't know how that had anything to do with sports, but your show has everything to do with sports.

You know what I mean. So I just figured i'd talk about it.

But okay, I mean, you know, we're trying to We're having a good time here.

I'm I'm in Arizona, guys.

Yeah, yeah, would say the best place to die? Where's the best place to die?

Well, I immediately went to Bourbon and Bones. That's that's one of my favorites. And and uh but yeah, I mean that's that's you know, that's yeah, that's my spot.

Yeah, there you go.

See what's uh your son's meetby lion.

You were saying, he's in the knee line, man, like he's like on the team. He's doing the meetings. He got cleared yesterday. So if Penn State wins the game this evening. My son will be practicing with the team next week. That's crazy, man, is crazy, Like my mind is just like, guys, I gotta tell you, I've had some really really mind blowing moments in my life. But I think this, this is up there, like this is up there near the top, like seeing little LeVar not be so little. And now I get to like I walk onto the field tonight and I'm going to see him on the sideline with his his game, you know, sideline gear, like you know, that's that's just and then he's going to practice next week.

It just it blows my mind.

Man.

So I'm I'm I'm so proud of him. Man, just you know what a good dude. He's just such a good dude. And and and so you start to get in this weird little place like dang, like I'm that dude's dad, like like that's my guy. Like I used to slap his button, change his diapers, and you know what I mean. I guess slap his butt sounds weird, but you know what I mean, like, you know that was my baby, you know, so that's that's it's just it's it's been a journey man, it's pretty interesting. But I'm here, I'm here in Phoenix, and I don't know what's the bigger storyline for me, just seeing my kid on the sideline or or hoping my my Nickney lines get a you know, get a dub tonight play against Notre Dame, and I see.

You, and then that's your We're being optimistic. Notre Dame's got their hands full with Georgia.

All right, we had a backup quarterback though later points.

Yeah.

Well, first off, Gunnar Stockton is a good little player. I mean, that's the problem that sometimes people forget is like every kid who's coming from one of these big blue bud schools, it's not like he wasn't a big time recruit or he's not very capable of doing well once he gets in there. And and the problem that with Stockton is he adds like a running element that they really didn't have with with Carson Beck. So now that makes stopping the rushing attack even that much harder when your Notre Dame or any team that faces Georgia moving forward. So it'll be interesting to see how he handles the moment.

That's part of it.

Fast man, the babies be moving fast.

I worry we lost are arguably our best defensive tackle. We've got oneted two. Roley Mills and Howard Cross are fantastic. But we lost Roley Mills for the remainder of the season. So that is a huge loss for Notre Dame and the interior of the defense.

So is that Howard Is that who Cross?

This sun?

I do not tight end the tight end from boy he was.

Uh, he was a hard guy to deal with on the football field.

Man.

He's like one of them long armed you know, tight ends. They were the worst ones back back when tight ends only were used to block.

They weren't really receivers. They were like blockers.

Howard Cross was a really really good Uh he was a really good football player.

Man. Played for the Giants. Yeah.

I wonder if that's his son I'm looking at. I want to find out. I want to find whole Cross. That's what we called him, Whole Cross.

Yeah.

Man, anyways, let's talk a while. You know, I'm gonna try to find it.

If that's his kid, Well, it is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on the sports radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. So it is the last day, last show of the year for us. Here on this show, we will have the usual since it being the same, Uh is it really cross the Sun?

Nice Howard Cross.

Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Right now, speaking of traditions, it is a Tuesday tradition. This man is our smooth operator. He is the one and only Pete Prisco, senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports. CBS Sports. You can get him on Fight so well, go CBS Pete. A little early, We're used to hour three. What gives?

Well, I got a couple of things I gotta do this morning, because you know why, I'm getting ready to get on a plane later on today and go watch the Sun Devil.

All right?

What good?

What?

Oh? Yeah? Come on?

You're actually going to attend an Arizona State football game?

I am. It's it's in Georgia, it's close, and I got found my way in some really good tickets and me and my wife are going to watch the sun Devils.

Wow.

Yeah, well you have really turned a new leaf.

Man.

You're actually rooting for your alma mater despite the fact you've done nothing, absolutely nothing to help the mountain I own.

By that dang no.

And by the way, that is that is one hundred percent true. Like I told you before, I paid enough when I went there, and now I get to reap the benefits.

Of that is your tuition relatively cheap, Brady.

Let me tell you this, This is a god on his truth. And you guys will you guys will listen to this and go, oh, there's no way. When I went there in nineteen seventy eight, the out of tuition was nine hundred dollars a semester out of state tuition, and I went from Florida. I had never visited the school. Think about that. That was way back then. I got on the plane as a seventeen year old kid, packed the trunk and flew across country and landed and off I went, as I undeviled the rest of my life.

And you that old Pete damn.

Yeah, so so.

I look good for my age, Zona, LeVar.

You do, bro? So does costa twenty five cents? Back then?

Yeah?

You could go bro seventy eight. You were getting soda for like twenty five cent or less.

No, well, I don't know if it's that cheap, but you know there were you know, we you had boom boxes back then you didn't. You had really you had cassette tapes and all that kind of stuff. Yeah, I would believe I'm an old Mayar and Pete.

What beer were you drinking back then? Or were you drinking like what?

Oh?

But you drinking about lights?

Were they not bud lights?

There was no light beer with Budweiser back then. Now we get on the white in the white can. Remember the old white can the Budweiser used to have.

Yeah, yeah, good call interesting. Damn if you do, Damn if you don't pass out.

Remember remember that game pass Out. We played pass Out in college where you had to play the game where you drank when you run around the board, you pass out and I had to. We played it with tequila once when I was in his You I don't think I'd drinking tequila ever.

Again, Explain this game.

Go look it up, you can buy. It was called pass Out. It was a board game and you had to like take a drink every time you went down like there a certain spot, there was a whole but I forget the whole mechanism of it. But the name of the game was pass out. And believe me, but the game you were passed out.

All right, I guess I'll kick it off here with this. Yesterday, Jonas and I did our most uninteresting teams in the NFL. It's just it's hard to watch them. And you might be shocked to hear this. But Jonas, not me, not me. Jonas picked your Tennessee Titans. He threw them up as one of the most uninteresting teams to watch the this year. And Will Levis maybe has played a part in that. Any thoughts on the Tennessee Titans being so uninteresting to.

Jonas, No, nor could I argue that. And I wouldn't be surprised if you did put Jacks. You should have put Jacksonville in that as well. I think both those teams a major flops. I mean, look, let's start with Tennessee. Look, Levis, is he the problem those? I mean, Mason Rudolph hasn't been any better, and that team stinks. The offensive line was supposed to be fixed. Bill Bill Callahan hadn't fixed it. That tells you how bad they are, because he's one of the great line coaches the league. He has ever seen the design of the offense. I have questions about that. Defensively, they you know, they have two good power players on the interior that aren't much After that, it's it's just a bad football team. So I can't argue with Jonas and no, Will Levis has not played well, So I can't sit here and try and discredit anything you say about that because that team is very uninteresting. But so is Jacksonville. I mean, look at it. I mean they got to start all over and blow the thing up. Get everybody out of there. Time. Go get Ben Johnson, make him the head coach, and let him do with Trevor Lawrence what he did with Jared Goff. Go fix it, because right now the way that they those both those organizations are really really down on attacking order now they can't fix it. If you go get Ben Johnson, you're gonna have a guy that can fix that quarterback. If you go to Tennessee, you're gonna have high draft pick draft one of the two quarterbacks. Although is this a great year to have one of the first two picks in the draft. I mean, are those guys slammed dunkers? I don't necessarily think neither one of them is.

M I don't know.

I don't know, But Pete, I got to ask you, heading into this offseason, we just did a segment talking about Ben Johnson possibly or Mike Vrabel being a guy that could be considered for Dallas. How do you how do you see that playing out? We heard sound from Steve Jones and he said, you know, we'll figure out, you know, what we're going.

To do after the Washington game.

Didn't sound like it was a confident, you know, vote, But nonetheless that's where they're how you see the things playing out in Dallas.

I don't think they're gonna get rid of McCarthy. I just don't. I think there's too many, too many signs of Jerry kind of putting out there that he's going to keep him. Now, there will be probably changes. You know, is Mike Zimmer going to come? You know, it's only a one year deal too, so I think there will be changes. I think I think Brabel is one of those guys that can play in a lot of places, in large part because you look at him as a culture changer, and you know how Mike Mike Brabel can go in and clean that thing up, much like Dan Campbell can. You know, he's still the culture. But the question with Brabell is who's going to be his offensive coordinator? Who's he bringing in to run the offense? Now, He's had some good ones in the past. He had Mike Matt la Flore remember in Tennessee, and he left, but they always supposedly had a real tough relationship, and he's hard on his coaches. But I think Mike Brabel is the right guy for certain situations. I think he'd be great Chicago, go clean it, go, fix it, go, and still some discipline in there. But again, who is his offensive coordinator? So I think Mike McCarthy's back in Dallas, I really do. I think he's going to come back now. I think there might be changes. And by the way, LaVar, all I could think about all week last week was how you argue with yourself all the time?

Like you Yeah, p Prisco, that was so robard into your response that I didn't even take offense to it.

Damn right, That's all right, Pete.

Every once in a while, the sun shines on a blond dog's ass. And you had me last week, you got me, but you messed it up this week. So there you go. You know's all right, Pete? You know I no back at you.

Love arguing with you.

Absolutely, if you had to guess right now, is very surprise maybe uh coach who gets fired on Black Monday, that maybe we're not looking at or people aren't seeing somebody that could be on the way out that that we're not anticipating here publicly.

I don't think so. I don't think so. I think if you look at the obvious ones, I mean, you know, is stykeing gonna make that maybe the one is he? Is he obvious? Is he? Do you think he's getting it? I mean you look at the Colts, do you realize they haven't won that division? To Drew Luck was there? I mean, and you know, Chris Ballard, the general manager, has had you know what now free coaches if he count the interim coach, and they just haven't improved that much and they've kind of been you know, middle, middle of the road. So I think, you know, there might be a change with the general manager there, who knows, But I don't know if they make a change with the coach, But I think the obvious ones are are easy to see. Is there going to be a change in Jacksonville? Probably? Is there going to be a change with the Raiders. I would you know Tom Brady's going to go in there and do something that that you know he probably wants to help influence the organization. I would imagine that they're going to make a change. So I think the ones that are going to get done are the obvious ones. I don't think there's any real surprises out there.

I want to ask you about the New York Jets and what you think is going to happen at the end of the season. You just you get the sense that there's just so much going on between trying to find a head coach, how that head coach feels about Aaron Rodgers, how Woody Johnson feels about Aaron Rodgers. There's just a lot there. How do you see this playing out?

Peat No, Brady, It's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life. You have an organization that fires the head coach and fires the general manager and now brings in a general manager that they fired and a guy we know very well, Rix Fielman, to find the guys who are going to be the candidates for a the general manager and the head coach, and then in the in the head coach charch, they're going to interview Rex Ryan, a guy they fired before. I mean, it's just the thing is a mess and it just makes no sense to me and the one of the teams going to learn. I mean, there's there's ways to go about the process and ways to do it the right way. And you bring a guy in that you fired as your general manager to help you with your general manager search. Who's going to bring in the coach that you fired? Who is going to be interviewed for the head coaching job? Come on, Woody Johnson needs to reevaluate the way that organization is run and he needs to step back from it. You read all this stuff coming out of this shot?

Is that a shot at our guy, Rick Spielman for being a part of the process. Is that what you're saying right now? Oh, you shouldn't be a part of it?

Damn A.

Look, he wasn't fired by them, He was fired by other teams. Like I told him, I said, they brought in a guy who's been fired by three teams. He goes, no, it was two, So okay, all right, Rick, because he was with us on Sunday. And you know me, I give everybody craft. But the more you're around this league, the more you get your eye and you know that your eyes open to, oh my gosh, what are these teams doing. It isn't that complicated, you know, it's just not It's just football. In the end, it's just football. What you should do hire an executive VP. Every team, by the way, should hire an executive VP, who hires a general manager. The general manager does football. The executive VP handles all the crap, you know, like if a guy's driving late night and gets pulled over, you handle that, You handle talking to the owner. The GM handles the football. He hires his scouts, his personnel people, and he trusts them. He listens to them, He takes their input. He doesn't get put off when they come to him and say, no, I don't like your grade on that third round. You have a third grade on that wide receiver. I think he's the second round grade, do you. I'm going to argue with you know, I'm going to go back and watch the tape again. Re evaluate it. Come back, you say, you know what, he jarred my mind. I agree with you. We're going to have a higher grade on him. You don't argue with your scouts, then you hire the coach, and you don't let the egos get in the way of the damn thing. You went into the profession thinking you were going to be making forty five thousand dollars a year teaching pe as an assistant football coach at your high school, and you're making ten million dollars a year, and you're going to let your damn ego getting away in that or be allowed the media influence the way you act in your press conferences. Give me a damn break.

Damn dang geez, Pete Ether god Ether Prisco at chrisco CB is where you can get him on X and he will, by the way, he will go at you if you try and come in his neck.

By the way, I am available for any team that needs an executive VP.

I will I will take that.

Can we ask you about your smith's man, like, how was Christmas? Were you either Grinch or were you more like Santa Claus?

No? That was great? You know what we did, Brady, I I worked with my uh my pregame show stuff. And then I went and had dinner with my eighty nine year old father and my wife a nice Italian restaurant and it was fantastic. It was a great Christmas. You didn't ask for anything better than that.

Nice.

How's your pop's doing?

He's awesome, man. You know what he does. All he does is he complains about bad quarterback flat. He's just like his son. I mean, my god, he says it with a little more you know, oomps than that. But I can't use those words on the radio. But this I stinks. This mean, I stink. Oh my god, does he hold the ball long enough? You know, Brady, It's just it's something that's trickled down through generations.

Hey, real quick, we will go back and make this show. You did say, Joe Burrow multiple super Bowls before it's you said.

I said, but I said one.

Hey, it's okay, It's okay. We can we can agree that you said multiple. Anyway, The point is that the most dangerous team is that the most dangerous team if they make in the playoffs. Are you willing right now, heading into Week eighteen to plant your flag and say this is the year I'm going to pick Cincinnati to win the Super Bowl.

No, I'm not because I picked Buffalo. I picked Buffalo and Green Bay before the season.

He can't take credit for something a proclamation you make on Draft night for Joe Burrow if you never.

Play the proclamation made that he would win one and you somehow amended it.

It's not me, Jack, there's other people involved who have found the tape of you sing.

Multiple nope, nope, nope, nope, it was one and he's not winning it this year. Before you right, don't want nobody wants Nobody wants them in the playoffs. I can tell you that you don't want to play it.

Okay, what year are you actually going to pick Cincinnati?

Then?

Like what year you actually gonna believe the crap that you say? Sometimes?

Yeah, Pete, you sure I didn't say Mahomes? That's right? Which Pepe.

Win back?

Pete?

I think I think Brady's going back on Revision's history. It was Patrick Mahomes.

You get a little worried. You got like four years left?

Yeah, I think well, I mean if Josh, if they had a defense, they might win it this year. When I mean, come on, give me a break. The guys.

I mean, come on, give me a break.

If they were any good, if they were any good on defense, he would be in the m VP conversation.

He's been phenomenal, right, he should be in the MVP conversation.

But he's not gonna get He's not gonna getvotes if they don't get the playoffs. Come on, they're not gonna do that.

Hey, Pete, I was wondering, are you gonna wear your ASU hockey jersey to the football game or are you are you gonna go dressed to the nines for this big one?

No, I have another thing. I'm probably gonna wear that pull over, but you know, I might fly up with the hockey jersey or something on just that your you know, it's forks up right, horns that forks up and horns down. That's what it is. I worry about the game, and Brady, you do a lot a lot of college football. I worry about this game. That Texas team is so big and strong and physical. I mean, they can run.

Into I feel bad for your boy cam Man. He's going to be going up against the wall.

So I think he'll score. I think a shu will score. I just worry about they're not going to stop them. They're they're not big enough a issue is not big enough on defense to stop them. So that's my concern. But hey, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, which is why I'm going. And if they if they whatever they do, it's gravy and look it's it'll be a fun time, right.

Like a state can't state can't try to win the Big twelve or you know, be a I mean, what's up with that?

Yeah? But I mean think about it, because look, you know, this thing doesn't have sustain sustainable success. You got to cheat like everybody else does, and.

N I L you just have to donate nothing a cheat past.

You know what, Brady, The teams that have been been doing it for decades have a better system in place, and now their NIL is better than everybody else's. So I mean, come on, give me a break. Just take a look at some of those Would you want to go to school in where? Take pick any place in the SEC. Would you rather go there? You rather go Tempee?

I mean temp is pretty legit, man.

It, So why why haven't why haven't they been getting players for decades? Then?

What I can't?

Yeah, your institutional stability, instability or whatever else is going on. I can't speak to all that. I'm just I'm giving you my two cents on it. That's all I'm saying. Break a little bit off for some of the student athletes there areas on a state, be a good one. I'm gonna break them.

I'm gonna do I'm gonna break some. I'm gonna clap a couple of times and cheer a little bit. And that's what my donation will be to the program, so that I might maybe I'll buy a T shirt going in at Arizona State t shirt or something that that's my contribution to the program. Look, I love go in there. I love rooting for the team's you know, one of the only teams that I root for in any sport, you know, the Florida Panthers and and and and hockey and then and then them, and that's it. And so I look, it matters, but it doesn't matter that much now.

When you mentioned that it's better than any SEC, So, like, what makes Tempe so much better than Mike Tuscaloosa? Like, what are you what are you getting at there? When you say Tempe is a better, better place to go what's the weather.

Yeah, let's start with the weather. I mean, let's let's go there. I mean it starts there, and then you know, the fountain is one of the great places in the history of mankind. If you've ever been there, and Brady knows, go to the fountains.

All right, fair enough, all right, Pete, Well listen.

The Harvard of the Plus. It's the Harvard of the West.

Forget that, Pete.

Me, that's it. Just me. Matt Barry might Matt Berry might too.

But look what it got us, Jake Plumber.

About that.

There isn't that Bury in the hall of fame, Pete.

He's in. He's in the Kronkite School Hall of Fame. And I'm not, well, there's a reason for that.

Well, what's the reason for that?

I don't donate?

Hey, Pete, Happy New Year. We'll do it again next week.

Thanks guys. We'll talk about the next round next next week when they upset Texas. Damn right, here we go there, Sor there.

Is the great Pete Prisco with us here on Fox Sports.

But that is a diehard NFL fan who is transitioning now to realize how exciting it is when his programs are part of the next Like, that's how college football works.

So that's not a normal thing for him to go travel to see a SU games to go No.

I mean, here's what I'll say about Pete though he watches all of them, Like he definitely is a faithful lum in that sense, because we'll come in and you know, he said last year, he's like, you know, not really like this, Kenny Dillingham guy. I was like, Yeah, he's good man. He's got a lot of good energy. I think he's building the program the right way. And now that they're actually in the playoff, the fact that he's going to the game is a monumental step. But it proves something else too. The ties to your alma mater are just deeper. They're deeper than any pro team can make because of the difference and the experience of everything going to school there and just everything else that you kind of come away with when you leave that school. And so you do people tend to come out of the word work for their alma mater, especially when they're showing out like Arizona State's done this year.

Foks Off be sure to catch live editions of two pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.

Coming up in a little over fifteen minutes from now, we are going to have the final Lee's Leftovers of twenty twenty four. And what a year it's been, so we will have that. I've been told it's going to be the greatest les Leftovers of the entire year. We've been promised that.

During didn't you say that yesterday?

Yeah, he's outdone himself. I mean just continues to each day is better than the last.

Baby, if you could remind us yesterday, Lee of the conversation about the leftover is just a little far, can hear it?

Well?

We did end on a well.

We talked about my Fantasy football accomplishments and failures over this last year, mainly as a commissioner, having spent all the money that was handed to me at the beginning of the season and now other commissioners.

Don't, don't, don't. Let's just pause there for a second. Soar, just do you understand the buy in at the beginning of the season that's supposed to be paid out to the winners. Lee is the commissioner of the league, and he already spent it. He literally has to wait until pay day. He has to wait until Thursday. Is at league, he said Thursday. He has to wait till Thursday to be able to pay anyone out because he's already spent. And now, mind you, there's ten people. There's ten people in this league, and two of which we're not sure if they're dead or alive at this point, but we know they don't really participate in the.

Actual Well, I did finish second place.

That's a few hundred dollars that's still in my pocket that I don't have to pay out.

So that's good. Why don't you just not spend the money they give you?

Man?

You know somewhere Christmas hit me hard, and then I forgot that some commissioners and other leagues wait until the end of the season to do their collection. So I got hit up with like three texts last night, like we're looking for seventy five to one hundred dollars.

You took their buying money and bought Christmas gifts for it.

Yeah, that's hilarious.

Were you not listening yesterday when he told the story? That's exactly what he said yesterday.

I'm just like you bought Christmas gifts with Fantasy football buying money.

That man, you're.

Paying, thank Goodness for your money.

You're paying Afford.

Yeah exactly.

Hey man, they're gonna get their money.

They'll be happy with it.

They mean they have, they've been without it, They've been without their buying for however many months.

You better pay Berto.

Oh, Berto just hit you in for his money. That guy so giving us our tomaly's better.

Berto's gonna come over there and beat you.

He won, by the way, is gone.

He's the I'm in his league where he's the commissioner and he's uh, he won less.

When did he tech? How soon after the result that he text you by getting his money?

He text me actually like a week or two ago after I got eliminated.

Up.

Did you tell him that you've already spent it on Christmas gifts? I did tell him, Like you wait, you wait, you wait.

Well, you know what if he gives you any problems, I got the best offense.

Yeah, and that's a good defense.

You know what if Berto's coming after you don't play around with it. You know what you do? You hitting with a Berna that's right. Choose Berna because it's less lethal. It's a less lethal Pitchtel launcher, and you can get ten percent off at Burner b y R in a dot com slash LeVar.

There you go.

You can be a pac Man.

Yeah.

By the way, that is my name is pac Man? Are you pay?

Oh no, that's a picture of Sean Man.

I want of the homies. What's the matter with you?

What?

LeVar might be the background as we're speaking right now.

So well they they was yeah, I mean you're right, Yeah, you're right. Yeah, I just don't have a Jerry Curl. I happen to have dreadlocks Jerry Curl.

Could you do a Jerry Curl?

I could not now not the way I mean.

Can we make a bet where you have to get to Jerry Curl if.

If what if doesn't win Player of the Year they break the record, I'll get a drip drip carry Jerry Curl. If Saquon breaks that record and doesn't get MVP of the Leitue.

Oh yeah, I'll do you that? Do that? Are you going to take that bet?

Do you think? Do you think Sirianni? Seeing Dan Campbell risk it is more inclined to want to risk it himself, you know, and say no, screw it, We're gonna go for it if they can.

Well, you guys do know Nick Sirianni coached on a staff with Brian Dable as the offensive coordinator. M Nick sirian was our wide receivers coach in twenty twelve with the Chiefs and Brian Dabele was our a C. So they've known each other a long time and obviously since they've both been coaching at the respective you know, organizations, there's a lot there. There's definitely some bragging rights on the line, for sure.

Any Way you talk about an awful year for the Giants, that would.

Be the cap or oh wasn't it?

I mean, that would be the ultimate nail in the coffin for the Giants, is that you allow Saquon to break a record that has stood forever.

Do you think he's behind the scenes forget forget the record for a second. Do you think he's behind the scenes though, wanting to put a stamp on things like you guys didn't want to pay me. I would have loved to have been there. I'm gonna go out in a meaningless game and not only try to break the record in front of you, but try to make sure I just I stamp home the fact of what a mistake you made by letting me go to Philly.

Is he that type of guy? He didn't seem like he's that type of guy.

Seems like it doesn't seem like it. But I don't know. Everyone's a little crazy in their head, you know what I'm saying. I think I think every competitor has some of that in them, at least the ones that I've always been around. They might not always say it publicly, but they somewhere in the back of their mind have that thought.

Yeah, you gotta have that d in you. You know what I mean? All up in you talking about dog? I'm talking about dog. You gotta have that dog up figure. There you go, there you go. Major pause, major pause, No Diddy, major no Diddy.

I'm talking about dog.

We're gonna have, We're gonna have. We're gonna have some right now.

Oh whoa.

Because it's.

Cures all illnesses, it really does.

I'm going to win.

It's Quinn's win. What Yeah, that's right baby. At College of Football Playoff version of this. And here's what's interesting. Guys, I don't know what you think, but I'm not sure how it's gonna play out for some of those teams that have gotten the buy extra time off, at least in case of some of the teams that maybe we don't have as high praise for or hopes for. So we're just gonna kick it off with the Longhorns facing the Pete Fighting Pete Priscos the Arizona State sun Devils. The sun Devils won the Big twelve, they earned the bye into this quarterfinal round to take on the Longhorns. You remember took care of business versus Clemson. That game really wasn't close at all. The Longhorns rushed for two ninety two yards in that one, led by Jaden Blue and then Quinn Yours. He's thrown for a touchdown and twenty five straight games. I think he does here too. It's a big number. I believe Texas the Land twelve, twelve and a half. Jonas. You can give me the Draft Kings number at the moment, but it was twelve when I picked these. I would lay the points with Texas. I think Arizona State's gonna have a really hard time getting Cam skataboo going. He's been phenomenal this year. But the speed, the size, the athleticism of Texas in the front seven in particular will show out. It's gonna take a big time performance from Sam Levitt. Words for Quinn yours this week talked about him being, you know, the better quarterback between the two, So this is his opportunity. I don't see it happening. Texas take care of cares of business. This one is a blow out. Twelve and ninety objections to this.

Twelve and a half is the current line under.

So draftings at a twelve and a half last night was I twelve. You know, might want to wait see if it doesn't bounce back down a little bit. So next up, we got Penn State in the Fiesta bo No one knows this one better than our guy LeVar taken on a Boise State team that remember earned a bye. They won the Mountain West. They were the higher of the rank conference champs or the fourth highest rank conference champs, so they got the buy into the quarter final round. Penn State took care of business, absolutely wiping the floor with SMU. I think they're still getting picked sixes at this point and This game is all about stopping Ashton Genty. He's been phenomenal for Boise State this season. He's the Dope Walker winner, He's the run up in the Heisman. You could have made the case that he should have won the Heisman. That being said as much about gent and everyone's tried to stop him loading up the box. He's been able to overcome that. Different challenge versus Penn State, different caliber of defense are going against. It's gonna come down to Maddox Mattson. He looked phenomenal against UNLV in the rematch in the Mountain West Championship game, spreading the football around. They're gonna need a big game from him. And on the flip side, the defense that typically aligns in what is a nickel almost dime defense, they're gonna have to try to stop the run. I don't see it happening. I think Penn State blows out Boise State, lay the eleven points. That's the number the last time I've got it. But I think signal tink Tron Allen. They go off. Drew Aller will obviously find Tyler Warren at some point in time for a touchdown in this game. Warren will play his role too, but lay the points. Jonas say, it's still at eleven, Still at eleven. It's still at eleven. So lay the points with Penn State in this one moving forward, probably the game of maybe the year, the weekend, however you want to look at this the week Excuse me, it's the Rose Bowl. It's Ohio State Oregon the rematch, all the drama that went along with the live next time we saw Ohio State out in Eugene taking on the Ducks, Will Howard not getting down in time to give them that last second field goal for the win. This Buckeyes team's coming off a huge win versus Tennessee at home in the first round. Oregon, being the number one ranked team in the country, got the buy, so they should be fresh, well rested. The question really comes down to Ohio State's defense. Can they match up with the speed of guys like Evan Stewart, Tesz Johnson, Trey, Shawn Holden, Terrence Ferguson at tight end for the Oregon Ducks. This group lit up the secondary for Ohio State, who likes to play a lot of man demam. We'll see what adjustments they make. I'm gonna lay the two and a half points. Jonas tell me that if that's still to spread minus two minus two points, I'm gonna lay the two points. With Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, I think this team is finally playing up to their capability. Jeremiah Smith, who's been talking that talk, I think he goes off in this game and we see the best of the Ohio State Buck guys. And finally my Notre name Fight and Irish in the Sugar Bowl. Take it on Georgia, who got the other by after winning the SEC some phone for the Fight and Iris. They lost one of the best defensive tackles, Riley Mills, and going up against the Georgia team that's gonna want to run the football, give him their starting backup quarterback Gunner Stockton, who we saw in the SEC championship game. He's a good runner too, by the way himself, so he will add to that rushing attack. But my fighting Irish are on a high right now. I think the way they're playing a lot of momentum, the way they can run the football with, in my opinion, one of the best backs. We're not talking about Jarrah Maya Love so I love Notre Dame give me the point and a half. Last time I checked, they're the underdog in this case. I also like the over of forty five points between it Notre Dame and Georgia, so they're your picks.

Notre Dame is plus one, over is at forty five.

And a half.

Okay, there we go, So over forty five and a half, I'll still take that point Notre Dame.

All right. So I'm whethough, I was building a little love parlay for you here.

All right, I'm trying a little part of play.

See what we got here. Let me let me do it. If we about one hundred dollars on all five of those results toff.

And look at that, look like, well, you'd bet like a dollar on each.

So right, I mean I don't I don't know that we need to attack. I mean we're just trying to get trying to put a little parlay here for us.

Yeah, let me work.

Oh wow, let me working.

I'm gonna try and put together this little five team. Or I want to parlay, Okay, I want to get parlayed one last time in twenty twenty four.

That's what we're gonna get parlayed by Lee when we get back damn
