Best of 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe

Published Mar 28, 2025, 1:15 PM

It’s a Football Friday on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, and there are shakeups in the standing after Texas Tech beating Arkansas. Jonas and Brady prank LaVar with a fake report about Abdul Carter. Penn State has another versatile player skipping workouts. The guys try to find comparisons to Cooper Glagg, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. They make their underdog picks for the Sweet 16.

It is the best of two pros and a couple Joe with Lamar Rings and Brady Winn and Jonas Knox on radio.

So this should be an insufferable day from Brady Quinn.

I don't I quit. I don't even want to talk about it. Like, let's I'll wait till the next segment. He he can, he can live in his number one ranking. I'm convinced now that Brady Quinn only reproduces and does sports information.

That's it. Like that's all he does.

That's it. Nothing else. Yeah, there's nothing else to Brady Quinn's life. Reproduce lov and ball and ball that's it.

YEA. Good for him, man, good for you, Bro.

I mean I did used to love the movie Loving Basketball back in the day. Those are my favorite movies. Interesting, Omar Epps, So what was the actresses, Dave?

Yeah, it's good. It's a good movie.

U congratulations.

You know Charles O'Bannon was in that in that movie.

Yeah, I remember that.

They mentioned Obandon Brothers somebody they were talking about, some one of these teams they were talking about.

They brought up the chime in with that. Var already said ten seconds ago.

Uh oh, Lee did you miss that. Sorry, I couldn't hear uh uh.

No, it looks like he's been he's been on it, like he looks like he's he's here and he's coherent and everything is good, all all systems go. Maybe it was just you know, distracted. That was a little that was a tabit disturbing. Though I ain't gonna lie like whoa talk about live delay.

You're you're great, but that's the thing.

Sometimes you get on that delay and I'm like, wait a second, is Lee, what's going on here?

He was really looking it up though. I was like he had his head down type and it did. I was like, I'll get it all right, Well there you.

Go, Lee, how are we looking at uh on the bracket Challenge standings? Because I congratulations to Alabama Florida. You can text techoo.

That'll be ten dollars.

Because because here's the thing, right, we all know Brady's number one on the list. He's moved up to number one.

But first off, not not everyone knows that. I don't know I wasn't number one yesterday.

We do, we we know it, like everyone hasn't everyone put it to you like this?

Jonas knows it.

Hey and The only reason why Jonas brought this up is because now he's he's slit in front of me. No, that's that's the only reason why you're doing that, and that makes you passive aggressive.

That's important.

That's in the top ten, man, the Jonahs, No, we are neither one of us are in the top ten anymore, top fifteen. It wasn't out of the ten. I don't give it, damn bro. I quit soon as I saw my rank, I quit, pull my name out of the bracket.

Man.

So you don't feel like Texas Tech when you're down by like what you know, thirteen points whatever it is, double digits, you don't feel like you can come back in the last five minutes.

What ill of a blow of elite? What were they down? Sixteen points thirteen? So it's just crazy, man. They looked like they was cruising to the victory.

Man, you'd think that you defend the three a little bit better in those instances. But that's coach cal for you. That's coach Cals.

Yeah, what does what's the dude's name, Tip Tipton or what's his name? Like, you know he's topping, you know he's going to get it topping topping, top top, if you were bad, bad basketball player top, your is shopping top it topping.

Yeah, DJ topping, is that what I'm thinking of? Sure, I'll say this, LaVar.

If you get your if you call it Michigan over Obama to win.

It all, which I'm still alive.

Then you are pretty much gonna win the whole thing.

Yeah.

Yeah, I don't think really anyone in front of you has Michigan.

I got Michigan State, not Michigan, Michigan State. I'm sorry.

Yeah, which I am looking kind of good right now. I looked at their pathway to the four. I feel pretty good. They play tonight. We'll see.

Today will be moving day because there's there's there's gonna be differentiation between a lot of people in the brackets to see who does what, who goes where. Like I said, like I've got Purdue over Houston to four over one, so that's a little you know, I could end up undoing me there and then Kentucky ever Tennessee, which hard to be a team three times in a season like that.

I don't know.

Those were some good games yesterday, though I was entertained. I mean, I don't know, I don't feel the excitement that I used to feel when I was in like high school or even in college. It's like a thing to like really really watch, like try to watch as many of them as you can. I'm not really into it as much as I used to be.

There were some ass weapons yesterday, like Duke Arizona. Although it Arizona covered the number, It's like the game really wasn't they It felt like was a stud though. Yea, yeah, he was good. And and look, Florida might be the best team in the tournament thus far.

Their second half team they looked like they wanted to try to give it away in the first half and then they came out and did what they usually have done in second half of games. But they do look pretty good.

Man.

I don't know, it's it's I feel like it's a it's a competitive feel, that's for certain. You know, I'm curious as to how you know, exciting and how competitive the games will be now that that the you know, teams are shrinking down with some of these matchups that are are looking like they're going to take place are pretty exciting to look look out for. So yeah, and that's a great SoundBite, by the way, because he was like, you know, he was humble. He's like man, Coach Kyler Perry, like he really is like man, like he's got it together this time, Like Okay, here we go. We're going cruise to a victory, like heading to the next round.

Man, I was rooting for Arkansas too, just to stick it to that Kentucky fan base, which is the Ohio state.

They look like the better team, like literally the entire game, they look like the better team.

Or they the o highest state of basketball because coach Cow's there.

It's just so so it's it's terrible what they've done to him, that man's reputation. And I don't blame him for blowing a lead like that when he's got all the pressure in the world because you know, he's exhibit a of hate and.

Like also all the players talent and money in uh in the college basketal wars.

Geez, you got kids changing the the annunciation of their last name now that they've gone to a different school. You know, one of the dudes on Arkansas was it he called himself something different when he was at Kentucky that he told the pr person to call a different name, same name, asking why, reasoning why he said, I don't know.

I want you to say it felt like it.

I want you to say it now.

I knew they was gonna lose after I heard that, I mean, just made sense. Here was a whole lot of sense.

So one of the discussions was why John Calipari didn't call a time out on the final play there was the make by Texas Tech and Classical coach Cow was asked about it afterwards and it sounded like this.

The last possession there in overtime, any consideration to calling a time out there?

Yeah, but in my career, I let that go.

Let the guy get to the room.

They're not going to follow you, you know there, and with that kind of time, just me you call time out?

Now, you got to worry about what.

He's doing, how he's playing the inbound, what are you doing? So I usually let that go now because it ended the way it is. Yeah, I wish I would have called a timeout, But ninety nine percent of the time I let that go because now I know what they're doing, they know what we're doing. That's why we did it. The end of the half, we wanted to go at one guy and we did. Really he made a hard bump on DJ that got him kind of off balance on the shot, But you know it was what we wanted.

Yeah, I mean, look, I buy it.

Yeah, Like the one time as a basketball coach you can really interject and have a schematic advantage, you don't want to choose that moment like, oh, they really know what you're going to do, Like you can't draw something up that maybe you haven't shown.

In the tournament so far.

You think they're going to be prepared for every situation of some sort of end of game inbounds plays for a last shot.

Really, all right?

I mean this is the sort of thing that made Kentucky basketball fans nuts because this is the type of thing you do when you say, I just let it play out when you feel like you have superior talent, you're just like, my guy's gonna beat their guys, So why not just let those guys go out there and play.

That sounds but it sounds nice in theory, But don't most of the best basketball coaches take the time out set up a play for that best player.

Like the whole point of basketball is it's not that that best player of his isn't good enough to beat whoever's on him or to beat a potential double team or make the shot. It's the fact that you're there as the coach to put together a play to get him in the basketball, to help him get that free shot. Like this is what frustrated Kentucky fans is he relied way too often on the talent of his rosters to win games, and it gets exposed at the end of games.

I mean, at least the free throw shooting was.

Much better last night for John cal Perry team which has been has played him throughout the course of his career with poor free throw shooting. So I wasn't surprised to see the comeback. I have picked Texas Tech only because I think, not that I knew they'd be facing like Arkansas and be even in talent. I just felt like, you're never out of a game. When John cal.

Perry's your coach, thinks what was this third? Third?

We were they like they made history on this comeback. It was like second biggest Okay Sweet Sixteen history.

But but but that's how he coaches end of game scenarios.

He has a heart. Early in the tournament, they couldn't in bound the ball. We kept talking about that they they fired off two timeouts, brought their last two timeouts because somehow he didn't communicate it that he could run, that his player could run the baseline to inbound the basketball. Neither time did he do it until after they burned two timeouts. It's it's always something that can be directly related back to John Caliperry.

You know what's crazy about that is Florida was turning the hell out of the ball over. They were turning the ball over like crazy in the first half of that game, and then everything changed when they came out. It's like when you hear I think I was Florida, I'm pretty certain it was.

I was just say that they out rebounded I mean it was it was almost two to one.

You know, they're taking offense Maryland.

Maryland was very poor on the offense side of the ball, but their defense was not too bad. But they were like turning the ball. Florida was turning that ball over. I'm pretty certain that was Florida. Like they had like ten turnovers or something like that in the first half. I believe anyway, they they corrected it. Like it's almost like you gotta ask yourself the question that deep this deep into the tournament. If you're gonna make all your mistakes, you make all your mistakes in the first half, and then the coaching comes into play and you come out and strategically you should be sound enough in the second half to take over the game and win the game. So now that that begs the question. When you have as much talent as John Kyler Perry has, how do you blow that large of a lead in the second half of a game?

Are you guys going to sit here and say that coach Kyle is not capable of adjustments? Is that what you're gonna say.

I'm not.

I'm just saying I'm just looking at it from I'm just looking at it from what I saw.

I'm not.

I'm just asking if bags the question. It definitely bags the question if you have that much talent and you were able to do it, get to that lead at the end of the half, like you go into half, you're coming out, how do you blow a second half lead when in theory you're supposed to go into the locker room and make the adjustments and do what it is that you need to do that's going to make you better, not worse, not the same, but better in the second half of the game. If you're better in the second half of the game, then NA should have won that game by thirty two points, by forty points.

Thirteen with four minutes left. That's gonna That's a brutal pill to swallow if you're of those players, Like.

That's like how we played Michigan my last year in school. We went into prevot with eight minutes left in the game. Why the hell you going into prevot defense and eight minutes is left in the game?

So stupid. Oh it hurts still to this day.

It does carry the narrative though, that despite what ever happened in the regular season the conference tournament, if Kentucky and Mark Pope can advance and they get further in year one for a Kentucky program, that you could say like kind of got pillaged, Like I would, I think most people would agree. You know, the players that left went with cald Arkansas, you know what he left for and everything else. I think you'd say like they were probably in a better spot year one for coach cow So if Mark Pope in Kentucky end up beat beating Tennessee and getting further, you'd have to feel.

Good if you're a Wildcats fan.

I know it's early, and I don't I don't think you need to get a Final four appearance necessarily.

I don't know that you need to win.

A national championship, but you'd have to feel like okay, like kind of a sigh of relief or a deep.

Breath that this is this has been good, like this has been a foundation. You can laugh. I'm honest.

I just it's why I like college sports, because the fan bases are so fanatical that there's a that there's a segment of the population and a large segment in lex that are probably like, listen, we understand like the expectations weren't as high for us this year. As long as that guy doesn't win, Like that's the other part of this, and they would probably celebrating last night because of what happened.

Probably.

But it's also a bit hilarious too, because the SEC has the tradition of like, if their team can win it, they just start rooting for their conference.

You know, you always get the.

SCC SAC SAC and you're like, well, you're not in it, Like, oh, you're just lumping along with the rest of the conference, you know, like you don't hear the Big ten to it, like you don't hear Ohio State rooting for a Michigan Oh oh, big ten, Big ten, Like.

No one's doing that.

It's only in the SEC We're like, well, we can't do it, but they not in this case, like not when it comes to basketball. So I would be curious to see how today's games go. For me personally, those are the ones that are like separating. But one thing stood out that really bothered me, and that was seeing the move of Kevin Willard, who's going to leave, and he's telling you team before the Sweet sixteen game at Maryland before they take on number one Florida, Hey, guys, let's go win this thing.

Let's go win a national championship. But when it's all over, I'm going to Villanova. I mean, first off, is that a Is that a lateral move?

No, it's the only reason why it's not a lateral move is because the complaints that continue to surround Maryland have been like noted and documented. There's no real supporting of, no real backing or buy into building up the NIL space and the programming like the assistance of these coaches, whether it be the football team or the basketball team, which the basketball team historically has been, you know, the bread winner in terms of the success and attention and you know, fame of the school, and he just doesn't. He didn't, and he just talked about it in a press conference not too long ago. He raised the point and was just basically like, if it stinks that we can't get any more support than what we're getting at this point.

So the reason why I think people have an issue with his handling, Like will Wade was totally honest with his players, Hey, I'm out, like just letting you guys know, like totally upfront, like let everybody knowing, and nobody had an issue with it. He spoke publicly about it. There was no hiding, and Willard's kind of been a little bit well, you know, I'm not happy with you know, we were at a Christmas party and.

We couldn't say that's what it was.

And then you come to find out that there's people that believed he was using that as reasoning for his out, so that when he does eventually leave, he goes, well, listen, I've been talking about this for weeks now, and it was like, no, you were already negotiating the deal and now you're bringing this up.

That means that he's already been going through that and feeling that though that's natural, that's natural to feel. I mean, look at how big the storyline has been about how Cinderella is dead, Like there will be no glass slippers at the NCAA Tournament anymore because of what Nil has done.

Like, think about it.

So, if you're one of those coaches where you're out of powerhouse, a blue blood school like Maryland for basketball, and you don't have the resources that you need, you're fighting a losing battle. You're gonna lose those guys to the transfer portal, somebody's gonna pay your kids more. Something's gonna go wrong where you can't manage the situation the way that you need to. So why not get out and get a different situation? Okay, are you going to do this if I come to Villanova? Are you going to handle this if I come to Villanova? You're trying to create job stability because it's not. Coaching is so turbulent. It's such a turbulent job. It's like riding a motorcycle. Chances are, if you get on a motorcycle, it's those who are riding and haven't fallen fallen yet, and those who are riding that will fall. There's a chance you're gonna always fall a riding a motorcycle. At the end of the day. That's the same thing with coaching. There's a chance it's those coaches that haven't been fired yet that are on their way to getting fired. It's a lock you're going to lose your job at some point as a coach. So if you want to protect your best interests, I don't have a problem with that. Now, maybe he could have handled it better, but to say that he was setting it up so he could say that he was leaving, that had to have been a frustration that he had been dealing with long before he started talking about them not being able to stay at a hotel during the holiday season. And it had to have been a frustration that his players. By the way, don't be surprised if you see some of those players like you just talked about, left Kentucky to go to Arkansas.

Yeah, watch you'll see whoever his best players are.

Again. I'd come back to my daughter.

They take their best players, These coaches take their best players. They and it's funny because they know oh to get ready to go, prepare to leave if their coach has gone to another school, they know. I sat here and watched it, and as a parent, I wasn't really involved. I'm on the outside looking in. But my daughter knew what time it was when Trent took the job at Oregon, she already knew. You know what I mean, these guys already know so.

And I think the easier part of the decision and talking about the nil conversation is one of the toughest parts for a lot of these large, big, you know programs, and especially if they're a blue blood, which I don't know if many people consider Maryland to blue blood in basketball AC basketball when I was growing up, like I would consider them a blue blood of college basketball and Kentucky obviously we're gonna throw a bunch of you know teams in that in that conversation, I think one of the battles that's happening internally at a lot of schools that this isn't really a discussion point that many people have brought up, is is the battle for dollars. Like if you have a program like Ohio State, for example, but by the way, it's had its moments in basketball, where they've been really good and they've got a ton of resources, but the majority of it goes to football, and football just won a national championship. We've heard the conversation about their roster. You brought in a current sitting head coach, you left that position to be your OC like that takes money.

It's not easy to do that.

They did a very big staff and expensive staff, and it all worked out to win a national championship. The basketball team in a different state right now, and by the way, it has a ton of resources to spend on a roster. It's not like that everywhere there and oftentimes because of the impact of football and how much revenue football can bring in comparison to even a sport like men's basketball, which a lot of people think it's a little bit more profitable.

Than it actually is.

A job like villain Ov where you have an FCS football program that's not on that level that it doesn't need the same resources like you're gonna need at an Ohio State and Michigan, Penn State and whoever, it's a different conversation. So all the money that does come in is being funneled to that men's basketball program because that that's who's carrying the flag for you university, and that's becoming more attractive.

And we've seen this constantly.

Didn't Patino his son Rick Patino's son I believe was a Michael yeah, or Richard Yeah.

The Richards went to Xavier. Why do you go Xavier? Again?

You kind of look at you and go, all right, like what resources does Xavier have more than New Mexico. It's like, well, it's it's got a basketball program. And by the way, that that's that's it, Like that's what they pour all the resources into. So that's becoming more of the norm. I mean, you're got Shaka Smart at Marquette. Some of these are places where when they don't have either a football program at all or one that's a big, prominent Division one power for program.

You're you're looking at that.

Saying I'm the one, Like I'm the head football coach on this campus, right, Like that's in essence how it feels to be one of those basketball coaches in one of those places. So I can get it from a support standpoint, I go back to what I said yesterday though, the timing.

Of all this.

This guy's got to make a decision on whether or not he's leaving. He has to inform his team because to become published.

It's terrible, It's absolutely terrible.

But this is all set up based on the college basketball calendar and the powers that be that no one wants to change this to make this easier. I don't understand while we're still at this point.

Yeah, it's uh, it's unfortunate. I do have some good news for you guys though. Here on two pro Bo it is a football frider. I can assure you that football fright.

He's gotta jo bracket.

Come has got a good Come on, Lee and Brody. He's got a good bracket. But Jonas, But Jonas sucks. But Jonas, but jon drinking? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh it looks like it. I mean it looks like it. Oh, it looks like it. Oh, it looks like it. He's behind the window. He looks bad dancing. He looks bad dancing. He looks real bad dancing. He looks real bad dancing. All right, come on, Mark, let's do that look Come on, let's do it.

Come on.

Yeah, Friday night is a football Friday, and he was in a.

Studio football Friday.

Rock them, Suck them, catch It, Spugget do It Friday He Sports Radio.

Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, Love Errington and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Yeah, there was some concern because Abdull Carter, the star pass rusher for Penn State, is not working out at his pro day. And you know, we were pointing out that three different general managers reached out to backer blitz dot com.

They reached out the backer Blitz Well, I.

Mean he spoke with them, you know, Michael Rochs did, and then you know, so that that kind of led to the discussion that we were having earlier in the show, Go Thank You. There's a report out from a guy, Michael roch from backer blitz dot Com who says that three gms in the top ten have said, quote, it shows a lack of competitiveness and they've removed him from their draft board and it makes them wonder what was going on in State call that would lead him or what the conversations are with Drew Rosenhaus that would lead him to believe that this was a good movie.

I understand the report from Michael Rotch. The tough thing.

Is is and this is maybe why the Michael Rotch report comes out and says this with the three general managers, because you would think that he would come out and say something, you know, but again, Michael Roch has been all over this.

I mean, I'm not sure if you fallow to stuff, but he's been deep into it.

I guess he reached out too, because a lot of people wonder what does this do for the other prospects like Edge Rusher's in the draft, and I guess you know, he reached out Shamar Stewart's representatives and they just said, you know, it just goes to show you some people like football.

More than others.

Yeah. Whatever, And I know we're up against him, but I'm just wondering, who are the three gms who spoke with Mike Rotchet at a backer blitz dot com that would have like, like, why would they?

I don't think that that calls his level of competitiveness into question. Think that that is a poor that's a poor conclusion to come to. So Lar, what are your thoughts on Mike Rotch.

I don't have a.

Problem with what he's saying. He's doing his job. I mean, he's doing his job. I think if if that's the conclusion that, let me ask you guys this.

Like, so you don't have an issue with Mike.

I don't have an issue with anybody. I can have an opinion without having an issue.

Let me say this one.

I mean, guys, I don't comprehend. What the hell y'all, LeVar, do you have.

An issue with Mike Crotch?

No?

Why would I have an issue with them? I don't have an issue?

What? What? What? What's my issue?

You really don't have an issue with Mike?

You know what. I'm a beacher on radio and.

You were in on that, and you were in on that, Brady, all right, all.

Right, all right, all right, I see what you got dot com is.

When I heard it, I was like, what the f okay?

All right?

I actually forgot the name that I said is I think when I said the second time we talked about it the first.

Off, as soon as you send Michael Rodd, I was like, oh wow, he went there all right, and I took it.

I thought you, I thought, jerk, you are the big I'm going home.

I'm going I'm leaving and I'm going home.

That might be the biggest jerk move on radio that I've ever been a part of.

It's just some of these reports are so ridiculous.

That is up that you.

Would do that, And then the only way I got it was when you pointed at your crutch.

That's ridiculous, bro, that's ridiculous.

Like the shiny light, the amount of garbage it's out during this time of year, Like doesn't this shin a light?

You can literally make up it literally was a great word. I will never literally take you to seriously ever again.

Why would you ever? Why would she? Will never take y'all seriously ever again? Ever?

That might be the most juvenile thing that has ever been done.

Like it's so.

Dumb, are you kidding me?

I know, berdo. Somewhere out there is listening and really enjoying, like dying.

Somebody's dying laughing right, literally dying because they're laughing so hard. If it wasn't me, if we did that to somebody else, I would be cracking up. But because it's at my expense, I'm like trying to dial in and listen to every detail because this is like somebody that's that.

And I'm like, why ISQ egging it on? Like, what do you mean I have an issue? He looked it up on Rock.

Different platforms. I don't know these.

There was some legitimate research done on the actual timeline of the injuries and all that, but.

Because I had to have something to say, and Phil, I mean, at that point.

This is people out there listening. You see what I deal with, y'all.

See what I deal with that, y'all see what I deal with all right now, y'all see what I'm dealing with.

By the way, who the hell would take him off my draft?

Rock? Unbelievable?

He didn't work out? Who cares? He works out of the pro day? Who cares?

Real quick?

A round of applause for Lee Mark behind the scenes making that happen too.

We had to turn around a little bit of sound there, so round.

Of applause for you guys to be able to get that done in a shortenut tong and especially with var being being there and somehow sneaking around and not make it noticeable.

I don't move, I don't move from my seat.

So it's so and and Jonas knows that I thought we was better than that. Jonahs, you know what youholated mean Now I was trying.

I got it. I got to go to the restroom, try not to laugh the whole time, Like this is so ridiculous, Like it's it's preposterous.

Of course i'd have an issue with your crotch, bro It's not a place I want to be.

That's why I asked you about mine.

Yeah, I don't want to crouch either, end up pregnant, like I don't want I don't.

I don't want to deal with your crouch either.

Now that this is ridiculous, now that we've exposed the the twelve year old uh lie that we just told the juvenile lie, that is so basic.

I mean, it's really good.

Is this a very execution?

Is very excution?

Is it really that big of a deal that he's not working out of just pro day, Andrew Rose says he's going to work out for teams for him.

In my opinion, though, like again, if he and especially considering the injuries the shoulder one can would be a tricky one.

It's one that.

Look, you know, people can disagree with his agent's advice to him. Although at the end of the day he selected his agent to give him, what is probably the best advice, And I guess I just I'd say this, if you're going to air on the side of anything with a guy who's viewed as the number one overall prospect and draft, why would you want to stress a stress fracture more before it's healed. If his foots an issue, why would you want to put his shoulder in any bit of harm's way at this point, Like, you've seen what he can do in the football field. You can interview him, you can test him whatever you want, Like that's what's going to be most important, and that he's ready week one for whatever team takes them. So I understand that I'm making an exception for this particular prospect, but that's because he is an exception.

You know.

If this is Travis Hunter at Dual Carter, Yeah, you make exceptions because they're that talented of players.

We heard Albert Breer talk about it yesterday.

I'll echo that sentiment from watching Travis Hunter, from watching a Dual Carter. That's how I feel about them, Like, yeah, they don't have to do anything. You wrap them up in bubble wrap, get them the draft, let a team take them, and then make sure they can just be ready to play week one. That's the most important thing. And if you're dealing with nagging injuries, man, this is a long rookie season. A lot of people don't understand these young men get done at least, especially in the case of Abdul Carter playing for the semi finals. All right into what is that January, they turn around and have to basically start getting ready, preparing themselves for the combine, for a pro day, for private workouts.

It doesn't stop.

They get drafted, they go right with the team, they start working out, they go through OTA's, they go through mini camp, they have a bit of a break in the summertime back in the training camp. Like, it does not stop. This is the longest season of their life. And for him in particular, you don't want to focus on all the stuff that doesn't matter that that's not the most meaningful part and that's week one during the season. So again there's exceptions to the rule. This is that case for Abdul Carter.

In my opinion, I wonder if any more reports will come out of the pro day today of participants and non participants from Michael or someone. On a serious note, on a more serious note. I just wonder will there be Now I don't even like I've seen it. I've seen the headline pop up that he's not working out on television because I'm not going to base it off of listening to y'all, but I did see that the headline popped up that Abdul would not be working out. I'm just curious will there be as much attention placed on if other people don't participate. That's what I would be curious to see. And what is that? What's the narrative that comes comes from it? Because now I'm kind of second guessing even saying that it was the agent that may have done it. You know, I don't know what the reason reasoning is or what the plan of it is, but it would appear that, you know, the two that the people are all going to be there to see first and second aren't participating, So that should be interesting. Abdul and I don't know, man, you know, I will see what happens. Like, let's let's see what the reports say. So when they talk about less, you want to break it? You want to break that?

Now, I don't know.

I don't do breaking news. Yeah, I don't want to do that.

You can if you want.

I really could, but I don't.

Why not.

I just said it without saying it. Yeah, but you want to make it.

I don't take violating. I don't like violating. You know how I get information?

Yeah, but you're not airing, you're not giving the sources name out, You're just yeah.

But you know, I'm just real particular about stuff like that. Every once in a while. I just gave y'all what I gave y'all. What if do with it?

What you will?

What if there was the breaking news sounder attached to it? Our go ahead, Toterneral, go ahead, you have the breaking news sounder, and you have the sounder.

Back breaking news from Fox Sports.

Well, apparently Tyler Warren will not be participating in the pro day at Penn State today as well, So there you have it breaking her there which news.

Again, if you're looking at an overall prospect, he's right up there with the other two names we mentioned. The difference being it's just a position that I think in most cases you're.

Saying, all right, like, how high do we value that? Now?

I would I would say he's a, without a doubt, a first round pick because the team's going to find a way of utilizing him in a variety of ways, but again not surprising, like I think there's going to be a team that targets him, that has a need for a mismatch like that in pass coverage, and a guy that can do a bunch of different things for you. It just depends on, like when you start building your roster, how much you prioritize that over that edge, over that lockdown corner, over that you know, cornerstone or blindside, left tackle or tackle in general nowadays, and obviously before all that as a quarterback, so like those four possession positions come before that, and I would throw wide receiver in there.

The problem is this year's not viewed.

As quite as good of a class at wide receiver, at least at the top end. So that's where you start looking at saying, well, if we can find a guy like Tyler Warren who can come in and give us a mismatch and be that Rob Gronkowski for us, Travis Kelce for us, whoever you want to point to, that would be where we want to spend that pick. So it's you can understand why it's not doing that. It could even be injury lid for all I know, not that that's being reported here again by Michael Ross or anyone else for that matter.

There's some people who think that Tyler Warren could go as high as seven to the Jets.

I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I would go on the limb and say he is the most versatile football player in this year's draft, and that includes Travis Hunter. There you go, I'll say it. I believe he is the most versatile football player in terms of what you can do with him in this entire draft.

Is he a better prospect than Rock Bauers, Yes, yes, yes, in my estimation, yes he is.

I'll put it this way. He's he's a better.

He's a better blocker than Bauers was coming out. And I'd probably still make that case that he's going to be in his rookie year. I don't know that he was, as It's tough because I think as far as their dynamic ability catch in the football, it's it's a wash. They're pretty even, pretty even, And I think, again, I don't know that this was a well maybe it was just any Kotoinecki in their offense, But to Levar's point, he was used more like he plays off the ball more, he does more things running the football more. That wasn't really Bauer's role. So again, the one thing that always concerns me when you have a guy like this who's special and could be a mismatches if he goes to a place that doesn't know how to use him.

I mean, that is always going to be the life long concern for all of us that ever.

Right.

But but but but even then, even more so for a guy who's like special like that is you get sometimes these play callers who they have a system and they're like trying to figure out how to fit him within their system instead of building plays that play too his strengths out around him. So think about think about and Kotoiniki this year. He put him back there at the wildcat quarterback did he put them He put him out there as a wide receiver, He had your traditional tight end, he could plays like a full back. He put him in a variety of positions. He's a very good play caller everywhere possible exactly. And that's and that's that's what I'm saying, is you'll get some guys in the NFL who they won more of I don't want to say cookie cutter, but they have the framework of an offense cookie cutter, and they don't get.

Outside of that. And that's that's my concern.

Is you got a guy who's in that world and he doesn't know how to weave a guy in who's got this special talent ability to do a bunch of different things.

There have clearly been pro teams that have separated and created a gap in a distance. And how they use their tight ends, like you know, those organizations, some of them just pop right out, you know, right up at you. You know, you look at Baltimore they use their tight end a ton. The Steelers they use their tight ends a ton, the the Eagles, they they use their tight ends a ton. I mean that those are like the first ones that kind of jump off, you know, the screen at me. I mean, then you think about the Niners, you obviously you think about Kansas City like there are teams that you and and to be honest with you, when I look at how Tyler Warren is as a player, I think he's the next iteration of of a Kelsey, of of the the Why am I blanking on his name?

And uh? And in San fran Kittle.

Kittle, he's an ext iteration because he's he's he's big. He is a blocker, and I mean a real blocker, not just a blocker. He's he really can block really well. But his his ability to run routes, his ability to find the open spaces, and in defenses, his catch radius, all those things. He's pretty phenomenal. He was fun to watch in person at the end. Dude, he's a pretty phenomenal dude.

Man.

That's That's what I'll say. And I'm not I'm not jockinging because he's a penn Stator. I mean, I I like him because he's a Penn Stater. But Tyler Warren is the real deal. Like I would say it, like, hey, maybe he's okay, but I think you.

Know what's interesting about this though he didn't run the fortieth that commin right, m hm. And so if he doesn't run the pro day, there there's that question in your mind like, okay, well how fast is he? And and maybe some people say, well that really doesn't matter, right, Like Travis Kelsey has played forever, first ballot Hall of Famer, still extremely effective. George Kittle, for that matter, too, is still extremely effective and obviously not running a four four four five forty at this point, but I do wonder if that because the tape is so good, I mean, it's so good on Tyler Warren that you're like, well, I don't want to do anything that takes away from that. And if I run a forty and you know, we all saw like Xavier ostrepro is in this category. He was a very productive wide receiver at Miami. Sure handed, runs great routes, gives great effort, yards after the catch, yards after contact, like everything you're looking for from a football player in restrep ro. The problem is he ran a four to eight to forty in some cases four to seven on some watches at the pro day.

So what do you think the narrative is now?

Oh, he went from like maybe a mid round pick to now being a late round pick because people need to be able to separate and see that sort of speed. Even though he plays faster than what he timed. I do wonder if there's a concern if he is running or if he's he's being clocked and running, if they're like, there's no reason to do this because if he does run a four to eight or a four high four to seven. It's it's maybe a ding on him in some ways, even though that's still pretty darn fast for a guy of his size at athletic ability.

Do they have to release the times when you go do a personal a personal workout, do they have to release the information?

No?

And also on top of that, my experience is no, they don't. But like my experience, is there anybody from the mill, No, they're not allowed. No, no, but but my experience was also never having to do anything other than just throwing and kind of working out when and by the way, it used to be where they had to come to your school to do it or or a separate site, not at their facility. So like when you do a visit to a team, you'll meet with their medical staff, the coaching staff on office, but you don't do anything physical when they come to you. It has to be you know that that's where the workout has to take place or somewhere else. So you know, I'd run the forty at my pro day, So maybe that was the reason why they had a time. They were fine, like they don't need to do that again, right in this case, maybe they would, you know, you come back out to work him out and say hey, we want to see you run a forty, and he can decline or he can choose to do it at that point.

Right, Yeah, I think that's what is probably going to turn out to be.

By the way, Adam Schefter did send this out a little bit ago that Abduall Carter did have dinner last night in State College with a large contingent of Brown's officials, including owners Jimmy Haslam, J W. Johnson, and GM Andrew Berry. Earlier this month, he visited the Browns facility and met with.

Multen will be on how about that book? Nd bro.

Hey, you know me, all they got to do is figure it out on offense.

If if they get Abdul Carter with Miles Garrett, that that is wow.

Yeah, wow, that that.

Could be really and just talk about like the mentorship aspect of it, like the the teaching aspect of it. I think that would be phenomenal for for abdual Car and be phenomenal for the Browns.

Brady still probably still got a plays out there, so he could him up with that.

I don't but would love to see that combination. Would love to see those two in Jim Schwartz's defense. I mean that is I'm telling you, man, it's a stacked roster. I know everyone's gonna make fun of me for picking them last year to win it, or yeah, I think I picked him to win it, didn't I yeah, But a lot of it has to do with like how good that team looks on paper and what that team's capable of.

Now.

A lot needs to be decided now this year, especially at the quarterback spot. But I mean, find me a better overall roster. When you're looking at the talent that they've got there in Cleveland, it's just it takes a quarterback to bring it together. And unfortunately Watson hasn't really worked out. People would say it's injuries, but even the play that's that's been out there hasn't been great at least compared to what he didn't Houston in some of his high mark years. So that's that's the biggest thing that they have to respond to and figure out at this point. I'd love to see them trade for Cousins. I know it would be it's probably not possible, but I think he would bring a level of like veteran leadership and within that structure and offense with that O line, that running game of their weapons, that defense that put them directly in the hunt again.

I think in the AFC North.

Can we find a non white comp for Cooper Fags?

A non white camp because.

It's just lazy like I've seen all Kurer Linko. I'll give you one, okay, because I got to tell you, guys are gonna laugh at me. I'd say Kevin Durant, Okay, I was gonna say Kevin gar I.

Know, like that's what was saying. LeVar is gonna laugh. He's gonna joke about it. But tell me how many guys have that sort of size length, can control the ball, shoot from the outside, score kind of at will the way he used to when it was at Texas.

I was gonna say, Kevin Garnett.

Well, he's not seven foot and he didn't come out of high school, but.

I think his defense is better than Durant mhmm, so that that would be mind. I'm gonna stay away from this one. You don't have a non white comp for Cooper Flag? H Yeah?

Who you got d?

Who?

Yeah?

From what Mark? I didn't say anything more.

I didn't say anything more. You got you got it?

Yeah? Keep it hanging out on the overnights too much. You got a filthy mind. What we're trying to do, comps here, trying to do what everybody else does K.

D and KG.

Yeah, the comps.

W though, man well has got to be non white. Why can't it just do a comp It's because it's lazy. It would like, because everybody's gonna do a well. Its game reminds me. No, his skin color reminds you of that guy. That's what it is like. You couldn't just say Christian Latner. You couldn't do it.

No, that wasn't good Night Later. Didn't play defense like Cooper Flag.

You couldn't say someone it's like Shane Shane Battier or something like that. I mean that's close.

I mean yeah, but.

And why does that happen to be? Like? Why why can you a statistical comparison?

Why don't we do this in reverse?

Right, give me a non black comp to Kevin Durant, Kevin Garnett. Let's deal it with the black athletes. How about that from from here on out? Garnett for Garnett, Kevin McKay for Garnette, I'll give I'll give you Larry Bird for Kevin Durant.

Yeah, Ip top Rady, all right.

Why, here's the thing is, you're looking for traits like Kevin Durant is extremely long and tall for a guy who plays like a shooting guard, right, And what I'm saying is like, if you looked at Bird, great shooter, he was similar as far as offensive prowess. I don't know that people you know, really looked at him as more of a defensive player in that nature. It was more of his jump shot, his shooting ability, his ability to score. And he was also really tall at his time, like in particular for that position. I'm just saying, if you did a statistical comparison, I think Durant averaged about twenty six points per game at Texas in the one year he was there, eleven rebounds flags averaging like twenty and nine something like that. They're probably pretty simiar. I think he averages more a sis per game and maybe you know about the same in blocks per game. But you just you don't see too many guys he's what six' Nine Kevin durant six ten six to elevel whatever he, is you just don't see too many guys who are like that size and able to do everything at a young age.

And score like. That, okay he. Has here's What i'm gonna, say is who else would you compare him?

To?

THEN i don't.

KNOW i never thought one.

Him, Honestly latner was not.

Ever he wasn't a one and Done AND i don't think he came maybe he maybe he came with as much. HYPE i don't think he. DID i, MEAN i think the biggest thing working Against Cooper flag is what he came.

From, like is It? Maine is that where he was playing his?

Newport but then he ended up going To Mount verdi and he did yeah for his, Final, yeah but he did come From maine something like. That, Yeah it's, LIKE i don't really. Look the only TIME i looked to compare an athlete is if When i'm watching him he makes me, think uh somebody like if OTHERWISE i don't even try, It like.

WHAT i just, think LIKE i just don't.

Try, it like y'all feel like y'all crowbart this was a, Crowball, yeah y'all does? It your toe is too long for the shoe and y'all took the shoe horn and y'all put it in the shoe and your feet are going to hurt for the rest of the. Day and y'all know that feeling like DO i remove the? Sock does that give me more? Space DO i DO i rub a blister on the back of my heel BECAUSE i remove the? Sock does it loosen? Up does the pain go? Away because it's?

Going?

UM i, MEAN i just feel like y'all forced your toe into a shoe that maybe it doesn't.

Fit you, know my.

Wife does she like she'll buy shoes that are so uncomfortable because she she loves, shoes and she'll instead of like getting a pair that's you, know maybe doesn't look as good but it's more, comfortable she'll just wear the more uncomfortable pair and put like a band aid or two on, it like on the back of your. Heel, Uh it's like, that like you just you're getting a blister for what like going to dinner one night for an hour and a. Half, newsflash dudes do that with sneakers.

Too, yes some shoes will rub the back of your heels all the, way raw all the. Way and that seems to be one of the situations. HERE i DON'T i don't. Know i'm Gonna i'm gonna have to go back and look at him more closely and see what comes to mind WHEN i look at.

Him. Play you know he's white that.

Much but you guys are telling me a non, white non white, Comparison SO i, MEAN i just you, KNOW i gotta check that. Out what what non white quarterback would you guys give the comparison To Tom brady Or Peyton.

Manning that's a good, One Peyton. Manning i'm gonna Go Achilles.

Smith h m, hmm What, No i'm just, thinking like.

Like throwing, style, okay arm, Slaught Achilles?

Smith you know. THAT i feel like you just made.

That yeah he, did he, did As i'm not going to make any comment towards.

It, WELL i, mean you got to put us on the spot. There why is it always going to be about? Race, like, well let's give me a second, here hold, on let me think of a non white comp De Peyton. Manning this is, good all, right come, on mm hmmm H Vince, evans.

All, right you got any?

Kid you got any he's gotten his he, ruined didn't you you got Any?

Like make this a legitimate. Conversation this that?

Okay only like how are? We how are?

We?

No?

No no, No give me a non white comparison To Tom brady Or Peyton.

Manning answer the, question answer the question.

YOU i feel LIKE i could give you someone closer To Tom bray Than Peyton, manning Because, peyton.

Give me somebody closer To.

Tom the problem, is as soon as you say the name or say, anyone they're, like, oh because because here's what you said. Earlier was WHAT i would go. By is when you watch them, play, like, oh which? Quarterback you're, like, oh it kind of reminds me of that Correct Like, Okay for, example if we're doing this activity and you Said Drew, BREES i would Say Russell, wilson, yes BECAUSE i feel Like Russell wilson tried to model this game after that.

Someone because that pops up like you pop up and you, say look at the Way russell, moves which is. Funny because he eventually played for the coach that mate.

They Drew brees', career he didn't like. Him it got to be the Opposite.

Peyton didn't like him, Though.

So that can't be that much like but go, AHEAD i, mean but you're right like, size, stature, movement you, know the. Mannerisms Russell wilson definitely probably patterned his game after watching some Of Drew. Brees i'm with you, There i'll give you, that but give Me Tom. Brady who's your non white comp To Tom? Brady don't, dance don't, dance stand on. IT i know you have to give me some time. Though oh but y'all gonna hit me With Cooper.

Flagg gonna sit there in need. Time but y'all want me to y'all gonna put me on the, spot d ask.

Me to answer Who.

Cooper i'm gonna crock it right.

Now, OKAY i will give you one For Peyton, Manning all, right come. On steve, McNair uh, no, okay that's. Fine i'm just saying as far as like prolific PASS.

I just went through my mind, rolodex Because steve McNair was a he was a prolific, passer.

But he was. Mobile he was mobile.

Right well, again, like that's that's Where i'm Saying Peyton NaN's gonna be, tough because.

Give me one that you're just Like Peyton, MANNING.

I would, say Like Gino, smith more closely as far as skill set To tom than than Like donovan and, prolific but again more athletic Than peyton Man, like it's gonna be really really hard to be able to find a comp if you're if you're always gonna throw the always more athletic Than. Payton, well a lot of guys would you could throw in that.

CATEGORY i, Mean i'm just saying he. Is So i'm just, saying, LOOK i want the comp that's. ALL i just want the coast.

Off here's here's the terrible part about this exercise for you don't, realize Is, okay when he Said Kevin, durant who most all?

Right WHEN i Said Kevin, DURANT i wasn't prepared for the.

Question he just, said when we talk About Cooper, FLAGG i was just, like kind of reminds me Of Kevin. Durant, Okay so it wasn't LIKE i needed any research.

And you, know, okay give you that's. Fair that's.

FAIR i just felt like coming my, way you, know it was probably easier for you to my my. Defense it was most likely easier for you to just come off the top of your head with the comparison to Who Cooper flagg reminds you.

Of, YEAH i gotta be careful ones like. That we really Doubted Levars levar's. Curveball he really BUCKLED ourni, THERE i had. Nothing, well.

Based on the Research i've done From Michael, roch it's a great.

Deflection and y'all got me really.

Good that's that's the history that we. Made. IT i was gonna throw out. THERE i wasn't gonna throw Out Doug. Williams, okay that's actually.

One For Pep. Panning that's a good. One that's a good One Peyton manning And Doug. Williams THAT i, mean so FOR i WOULDN'T i wouldn't. Compare so here's here's what here's What i'll say For.

Tom WHEN i think Of, tom the things that stand out to me are obviously like pocket, passer extremely accurate, clutch but also it's moving with in the. Pocket and so WHEN i initially threw Out, geno it's because Like gino throws a hell of a, Football, like there's a reason why he was able to kind of make it through whatever the narrative was of him after being drafted by The, jets go To seattle play, well you, know we're getting an extension, obviously Have Pete carroll sign him now In Las, Vegas like there's a reason for. That and he was like one of the first that kind of came to mind as far as like pocket, passer even though he's probably just as, athletic if not more Than tom and his, prime but when you think of like the type of ball they're throwing from the, pocket, like, dude you know he can sling.

It but, again this is a much Tougher this is a much tougher activity.

That by the, Way Mark, ramsey good Call Warren moon To Peyton. Manning yeah that's way. Better that's the best. One that's a really good. One, yeah that's a really good. One, Yeah i'll go with you on. Gratulations, mark you're opposite. Race that is a.

Really good that's a good comp's tell him to give us one for us To.

Tom.

Brady you Recalled Joe. GILLIAM i just, yeah, YEAH i Do. Steeler he's before his, time.

Though, YEAH i don't know that we got enough of a large enough sample size to to make that that pool because he was actually mobile, too he was a mobile.

QUARTERBACK i wouldn't go With GILLIAM i.

WON'T i, WON'T i. WON'T i won't bless that.

One but y'all mess him up because he came strong with Warm, Moon Warm. Moon that's a good. One that's a really good. One, NOW i Don't Tom. Brady That's i'm like sitting here racking my, mind like which one reminds me Of Tom?

Brady, yeah because as soon as you say the, name, people oh my, gosh you're an.

Idiot how could how could that guy look Like tom the greatest of?

All it's, like, yeah that, identity AND i did the activity with, YOU i.

Would have got.

This, okay what about not, now not the, opposite but at least you know darker hold, on hold, on hold on? What hold? On hold on What Brady quinn a black version Of. Brady i'm saying, like, like, like he's got the the darker. Complexion, oh he is darker than WHAT i had originally anticipated UNTIL i got.

It by the, way can we take care of some business before we get too far into. This come, on come, on don't go.

Ahead we've got some DraftKings, here we got it, ready come, on let's do. IT i go with.

That come, on we've got To we're going to pick our up since we're all our shots in the sweet sixteen, here all? Right so here are the underdogs heading into today's four games in THE ncaa. Tournament ole miss getting three and a half on, DraftKings kentucky is getting four and a, Half michigan's getting eight and a, half And purdue is getting eight and a.

Half can we just go.

One out of? Time i'm not gonna remember. This are we making? Picks, yes, okay start with. One jonas, like name name a.

Game i'm gonna Take. Michigan, no, No i'm, saying give us the Ganget michigan plus eight and a half Against.

Auburn.

Pick i'll Take. Michigan i'm gonna go with.

THAT i Ha michigan, Advancing So i'm gonna take. That but winning by how many eight or they're giving they're getting given a half?

Points all, Right So i'm money.

Lining i'm money Lining.

Michigan damn money, line all, right money. Line they're going to win. Outright, Okay i'm.

Not going that. FAR i don't hate them, covering you, know in eight and.

Half But i've Got auburn, advancing so that is not my underdog That i'm PICKING u to win.

Outright, okay go to the next. One let's go all. Right SO i believe That, Brady, uh this is where his hard comes. In kentucky plus four and a half Against tennessee plus.

Well And lee double check this for.

Me i'm almost POSITIVE uk Beat tennessee both times in the regular, season and they didn't play in THE sec.

TOURNAMENT i don't Think.

I'm going to Say kentucky's going to beat them by more than.

Four, well they're not. Favored they're they're getting for, that they're getting four and a half for. Four, well Then i'm a money Line kentucky.

Again there you. Go so here's here's What i'll.

Say is If kentucky can obviously play the way they have either in the past or how they look the last time.

Out that's a tough team to. BEAT i thought they played their best basketball in the round the second, Round SO i like. THIS i picked.

This uh, yes it's probably just as much with my heart as my, head BUT i like.

It that is one of my money line underdog picks for.

TONIGHT i do Have kentucky advancing all the way to the fore by the, way.

With as much of a red ass as Tom izzo shown in supporting his. PLAYERS i can't Imagine Old miss plus three and a half is a is a smart, play Like i'm Gonna i'm gonna Take Michigan state in that, game so it's not an.

Underdog but what game is?

That, uh that's Old Miss, Michigan.

Michigan state and What, yeah of Course i'm going With. Michigan say what what's the odds or what's the?

Poet three and a? Half they're getting three and a, HALF i don't.

Know, Yeah Michigan state is going to cover it is the closest spread though they're going to cover.

It is that concerns me a. Bit Man Ole miss is kind of like that hot team THAT i don't know we consider, them you Know cininderella, story BUT i don't know too many people that, had you, Know Old miss knocking on the door getting ready to try to go play in The elite. Eight so they got to Cochg. STATE i think they'll cover.

Here and Then purdue is getting eight and a half Against, Houston AND i know there's some you know.
