On June 16, 2026, Kelowna radio came full circle when George Stroumboulopoulos reached out with a simple question: "I'm in Kelowna... any chance I could do an overnight shift on The Lizard?"

Of course, the answer was yes.

Long before national television, interviews with rock legends, and becoming one of Canada's most recognizable broadcasters, George was getting his start right here in Kelowna on The Lizard in 1993. More than three decades later, he returned to where it all began for a spontaneous late-night show filled with stories, memories, music, and the kind of radio magic that only happens when the right person sits behind the microphone.

Joining him was Lizard Afternoons personality Roach, turning the late shift into an unforgettable reunion and a celebration of local radio history.
