Greater Jamaica Development Corporation is a community-building organization that plans, promotes, coordinates and advances responsible development to revitalize Jamaica and strengthen the region.  

1010 WINS Executive Producer, Sharon Barnes-Waters, sat down with Mitchell Sternbach, Director of Resource Development GJDC, and Patricia Robinson, Chief Administrative Officer of GJDC to talk about the great things GJDC is doing in that part of Southeast Queens and how it is having a positive impact on the lives of people in the community.

They also discussed the exciting upcoming first ever free "Jamaica Ready" outdoor Family Festival on Saturday, August 26th from 11-3pm at York College Performing Arts Center. The day will start with a 5k walk/run at 8am at York College where they expect over 500 runners.
