An Acreage man likely had a medical incident before he died in a fatal crash west of Lantana on Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office said. Peter Newman was traveling westbound on Lantana Road when, for unknown reasons, his Toyota Tacoma pickup veered to the left and crashed into a landscaped area near Bentbrook Boulevard. An off-duty firefighter performed CPR on Newman, but he died a short time later at Delray Medical Center. He was 60 years old. The crash was the second one this month in Palm Beach County in which a driver apparently suffered a fatal medical incident, following one on Alternate A1A in Jupiter on November 13 that also killed a person in another vehicle.
