A member of the Gitxsan First Nation, Cindy Blackstock is an advocate who spent years building better protections for Indigenous children and their families through compensation for past discrimination.
She is the executive direction of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada and is also a professor for the School of Social Work at McGill University. 

On Oct. 12 at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay, Blackstock will be honoured at the Campagnolo Dinner.
