Bay Area Soccer Fans Gather to Watch the World Cup

View descriptionShare

Bay Area fans of World Cup soccer are heading out to some of their favorite hangouts to catch the matches. One of those places is Commonwealth Cafe and Public House on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. The English pub (with Scottish touches) was packed on Tuesday for the Iran-USA and England-Wales matches. The owner made the tough decision to shut the Commonwealth down earlier this year – but he couldn’t resist reopening for the World Cup to give soccer fans the home-away-from-home they were used to.
