In efforts to bring down sky-high drug prices, the Federal Trade Commission announced on Tuesday it's challenging patents on 20 brand-name drugs, including the well-known weight-loss injection, Ozempic. 

Federal regulators sent warning letters today to several drug makers telling companies they have by the end of May to withdraw or update their patent listings.

A new study is sparking up some concerns around the health risks that marijuana may pose to not only teens, but also seniors. 

Researchers found after Canada legalized weed, the number of emergency room visit for cannabis poisoning skyrocketed among people who are 65 and older. 

For a closer look, KCBS Radio's Patti Reising was joined by Dr. Nathan Stall, Geriatrician at Mount Sinai Hospital and researcher at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto. He is the lead author of the study.

Voters in South Lake Tahoe will soon decide on whether to make vacation home owners pay a whopping $3-thousand dollar vacancy tax on residences that sit empty for more than 6 months. 

However, the decision whether these vacant homes should be taxed is dividing voters in the city against many Bay Area residents who have second homes in the Tahoe region.
